Thomas County Jail
The Thomas County Detention Facility is a major
function of the Thomas Co Sheriff’s Office.
Currently it operates with an annual budget of $
1.3million dollars. Currently it operates with an annual budget of $1.3 million dollars. There are thirty-two full time
officers operating the facility twenty-four hours a
day. The daily average inmate population is
170 inmates. Currently, t he facility can house a
maximum of 270 prisoners. However, additional bunks
can be added to accommodate 480 prisoners, before
any new construction will be necessary.
